What Stratatouille is

Stratatouille is a tool for building, comparing, and sharing historical timelines. It renders history on a scaled horizontal time axis with parallel lanes — so you can see coincidence, not just sequence — and automatically drapes structured context (leaders, wars, milestones) from Wikidata around the people and events you care about.

The name is a portmanteau of strata and ratatouille: distinct layers, stewed together into something you can actually taste. This site currently hosts the marketing surface and a short public record of how the app is being built — see the specs for what powers it, and the build log for progress.
